Before FMP (deciding on a theme)
Having been alerted to the upcoming FMP I’ve taken the
initiative to start exploring new ideas and starting points for the project.
The Project is necessary to be wide in scope enough to be able to span out a
variety of subtexts or themes and be reasonably comprehensive while specific
enough to entail a decent progression on the set theme.
There are certain ways to go about this and so the first
task is to develop a project proposal which will feature the core concept of
the project and discuss the progress of course parts one and two and how such a
concept will maintain the resolve to see the project through. This proposal is limited to 450 words
(additionally give or take ten percent) and critically depends on a concise and
thorough analysis and explanation of ideas. Over the course of this project I
want to progress in a distinct style that will help define the piece while
combining vivid realism combined with elements of imaginative fantasy (albeit
subtler)
The major points to reflect on is:
· Review
· Ideas
and concept
· Contextual
research
· Techniques
and presentation
· Evaluation
and progression
A good project proposal is going to need to be fairly
comprehensive, and my tutors have outlined several problems
that may arise. I think my Achilles heel
would be a too ambitious idea that won’t suit the allotted time frame or being
to safe. Despite this I know that my final piece will be a painting as it is the
media I am most confident and familiar with. My intention is to develop on
initial work primarily experimented on during part 1 of the course (the reimaging
the Ruins of Holyrood Chapel) and producing apocalyptic landscapes and should
review what directions are available
This project will be assessed on the grounds of:
· Context
· Research
· Problem
solving
· Planning
and production
· Practical
skills
· Evaluation
and reflection
· Presentation
